DC In Bloom

I just came back from a 10-day trip to the lovely city that is Washington, D.C., and my plane was just in time for the cherry blossom festival that takes place every year there between the end of March and the middle of April. I got lucky, actually, since the unusual cold delayed the Japanese cherry trees’ full bloom long enough that I got to see them at their best!

As soon as my boyfriend picked me up from the airport, we headed to the Tidal Basin to see them. The sun was there too! We spent a few hours walking around hand in hand, enjoying pink lemonade, and in my case nearly walking into people every minute:
